Why should I study the book of Judges?
Because you need to know the cost of doing what is right in your own eyes.
The book of Judges highlights Israel’s need for a righteous king in a time when they had no king, and catalogs the downward spiral of wickedness evidenced in Israel’s abandonment of the Lord and their commitment to doing what was right in their own eyes. The book of Judges presses home the point that the people of God squander the promises of God when they fail to keep the precepts of God.
