What to Expect When Following Jesus (John 15:18-16:4)

Main idea: In John 15:18-16:4, we see four expectations every follower of Jesus needs to lay to heart so that they will not fall away but be patient, faithful, and joyful as they serve Christ.

  1. Expect to be hated (vv. 18-19)

  2. Expect to be persecuted (vv.20-25, 16:1-4)

  3. Expect to be helped (vv .26, 16:1)

  4. Expect to bear witness (v. 15:27)
