MEET The Choi Family

Redeemed South Bay is happy to partner with Charles Choi and his wife Thien Ai and their ministry in Cambodia. Thien Ai grew up in Vietnam in a church her father pastored and left her home and church in 2009 to serve God in Cambodia. God eventually led her to start a school to give the hope of the gospel of Jesus Christ and an education to impoverished and stateless Vietnamese children living in Cambodia. In 2014, Charles entered the picture when he met Thien Ai while he was on a short-term mission trip. He returned on another short term trip, and enjoyed serving with her so much that he asked her to marry him. She said, “yes” and they were married in 2016. Together they run a school that now serves about 150 students by providing free education and equipping them with skills such as reading, math, computers, English, Vietnamese, and Khmer, and Bible. They especially enjoy teaching the children to pray and sing praises to God.

Our goal has been to support Charles and Ai and their ministry, and bring support, encouragement, and love to them and the Vietnamese and Cambodian people each year by sending a short-term mission team. We hope that our presence and involvement lightens their load and helps them achieve their long-term goals for reaching the Vietnamese and Cambodian people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are in truly thankful to see and participate in the work that our Lord Jesus Christ is doing to build his church in Cambodia!
