The Gospel of Mark

1 John 2:6 says, "Whoever says he abides in him [Jesus] must walk in the same way in which he [Jesus] walked." By studying the Gospel of Mark your view of Jesus' life and ministry will be enriched and remind you of the walk which Jesus Christ walked.

Old Testament Survey

TUESDAY NIGHTS 7PM

A vast knowledge of the Old Testament (OT) is immensely beneficial in understanding the writings of the New Testament (NT). Many contemporary Christians are far more versed with the NT than the OT, if you want to better understand the NT than knowing the OT well is key.

This course explores:

  • The contents of the OT

  • Major themes of the OT

  • Some of the prevalent Issues of each OT book.

Lord Teach Us to Pray

TUESDAY NIGHTS 7PM

 In Luke 11 Jesus' disciples requested, "Lord, teach us to pray..." and Jesus' reply is what is commonly known as The Lord's Prayer. The Lord Jesus has given His first disciples, and by extension us, direction in how we should prayer. What does His instruction reveal to us in regard to our prayer life? What are we really praying when we pray "The Lord's Prayer?" Are you encouraged to pray as the Lord has instructed us? Come and let’s dig deep into the Word of God and examine the Lord's Prayer; and be encouraged to pray unceasingly.

Grasping God's Word Part 2

SUNDAY NIGHTS 6PM

This course focuses on helping those who want to learn how to read, interpret, and apply the Bible in appropriate ways to their own lives and the lives of others. 

This Course Explores: 

  • The basic tools for reading the Bible - understanding sentences, paragraphs, and discourses.

  • Understanding where our English translation of the Bible comes form and the steps involved in getting into English.

  • Understanding the literary, grammatical, historical, and cultural contexts of the Scriptures.

  • Growing an awareness of things that we bring to the text that may cause us to interpret the text wrongly.

  • Understanding the meaning of a text and where the meaning of a text comes from.

  • How to interpret the various genres of scripture in the NT: Letters, Gospels, Acts, Revelation

  • How to interpret the various genres of scripture in the OT: Narrative, Law, Poetry, Prophets, Wisdom

God Centered Living

This course works through five foundational topics for defining a life of Biblical, God-Centered, Spirit-empowered ministry.

The course explores:

  • How the pursuit of eternal pleasures in God Himself is a necessary part of all worship and virtue

  • How saving faith in ever-arriving future grace is also sanctifying faith

  • How to count all suffering joy

  • How men and women with equally valuable roles should complement one another in their new life and service of the body of Christ

  • How God's purpose in the world is to win worshippers for Himself from every tribe, tongue, people and nation.
