Humility Gloriously Exemplified (Philippians 2.5-8)

Sermon Outline: 

Proposition: In Philippians 2:5-8 Paul shows us two counter-cultural decisions of Christ which reflect a mind-set of absolute humility so that by thinking and acting like Christ, the local church might be joyfully united in their efforts to advance the gospel. 

1. Christ did not wield his status and authority to serve himself (v. 6)
2. Christ waived his status and authority to serve others (v. 7-8)
   1. Christ made himself nothing (v. 7)
   2. Christ humiliated himself (v. 8)
