Proposition: This evening, from this text, I plan to biblically, theologically, and succinctly answer the question, “What happened on that cross?”

1. Jesus Christ was rejected by sinners, for sinners (v. 3)

2. Jesus Christ was substituted for sinners (v. 4)

3. Jesus Christ was credited with the sin of sinners (vv. 5-6)

4. Jesus Christ was humbled for sinners (v. 7)

5. Jesus Christ was sacrificed for sinners (v. 10)
