Finding Joy in the Birth of the Savior (Luke 2:1-21)

Three truths for finding joy in the good news:

  1. We find great joy in knowing that the good news is in God’s sovereign control. (vv. 1-7)
    a. Joy that God ordained the manner of Christ’s birth. (v.1)
    b. Joy that God ordained the place of Christ’s birth. (vv. 2-5)
    c. Joy that God ordained the time of Christ’s birth. (vv. 6-7)

  2. We find great joy in knowing that God’s glory is displayed through the good news. (vv. 8-14)
    a. Joy that God’s glory is proclaimed by angels (vv. 8-9, 13-14)
    b. Joy that God’s glory is displayed in Christ. (Vv. 11-12)
    c. Joy that God’s glory is displayed in us. (Vs. 14b)

  3. We have great joy when we receive the good news and proclaim it to others. (vv. 15-20)
    a. Joy when we accept the good news. (vv. 15-16)
    b. Joy when we treasure the good news in our hearts. (vv. 18-19)
    c. Joy when we proclaim the good news to others. (vv. 17, 20)
