In, But Not Of, But Sent Into (John 17:9-19)

Main Point: In John 17:9-19, Jesus prays for his disciples, so that they would be prepared for the Gospel Mission.

  1. Jesus prays for their protection while they’re in the world (vv. 9-15)

  2. Jesus prays for their sanctification because they are not of the world (vv. 16-17)

  3. Jesus prays about His consecration because He is sending them into the world. (vv. 18-19)
